Nearly 15,000 items are turned into the LIRR's Lost & Found office every year. We have established a Lost & Found process that is designed to recover and return as many items as possible to our customers. This process involves several steps that must take place, and requires your cooperation and patience. Unfortunately, while we do our best, not all items are recovered or turned in to the Lost & Found office.

For safety and security reasons, please note:

  • LIRR employees are not permitted to disrupt train radio communication.
  • Customers are not permitted in non-public areas on LIRR property.
